La Crosse, WI, July 2023 – Hale, Skemp, Hanson, Skemp, & Sleik is proud to announce and commemorate the extraordinary milestone of Charles E. Hanson’s 50th year of practicing law. This remarkable achievement symbolizes a lifetime of dedication and passion for the legal profession.
Chuck embarked on his legal journey five decades ago, stepping into the footsteps of his father, Ernest O. Hanson, who himself enjoyed a successful career spanning over 50 years. Following in his father’s esteemed legacy, Chuck has exemplified the highest standards of legal excellence, leaving an indelible mark on the legal community.
Throughout his illustrious career, Chuck has earned a well-deserved reputation for his unparalleled knowledge, and unwavering advocacy for his clients. Over the years, Chuck has been recognized as a Super Lawyer®, as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, and was honored with the Charles L. Goldberg Distinguished Service Award. Chuck is a past president of the La Crosse County Bar Association. He was a founding board member and served as president of the Wisconsin Association of Workers’ Compensation Attorneys. Chuck also served six years on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Wisconsin and served as liaison to the Litigation Section.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chuck is a respected community leader who has served as the founding president of many community organizations including Freedom Honor Flight, which sends veterans to Washington, D.C. to be honored; the Riverside International Friendship Gardens, Inc., the La Crosse Association for our sister cities in Dubna, Russia; Luoyang, China; Bantry, Ireland; and Forde, Norway. He is also the founding president of The Brain Game, Inc. devoted to healthy early childhood development. An active Rotarian, Chuck served as District Governor for Rotary International. Chuck and his wife, Cheryl, were honored together with the esteemed Iverson Freking Ecumenical Recognition award for their community contributions.
